Dot received an A.A. in Accounting from Nassau Community College. She began her career working in the bookkeeping department of a well-known publisher performing accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll functions. She was promoted to the position of Payroll and Employee Benefits Manager where she remained for over 20 years. In 1997, she joined Schultheis & Panettieri assisting auditors in analyzing the investment portfolios of the firm's clientele.
