James graduated from Long Island University at C.W. Post and joined Schultheis & Panettieri, LLP in 1992. James was promoted to Partner in 2003.

Client Interaction

James thrives on client interaction and spends significant time assisting clients with compliance issues and special projects relating to mergers, governmental audits and investigations, expense analysis, and system implementation and analysis. The remainder of James’ time is spent overseeing financial statement audits of employee benefit funds and labor unions and assisting clients with establishing and maintaining systems and controls.

Knowledge Sharing

A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, James also belongs to the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.

James often gives seminars on current issues surrounding labor unions and employee benefit funds on topics such as fraud prevention, compliance with IRS and DOL filing requirements, accounting regulations, auditing practices, and benefit compliance procedures (payroll audits).

James is a former member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans Professionals Committee. As a Committee member, he was given the opportunity to provide input and guidance to facilitate the Foundation’s educational programs and services on behalf of its 30,000 members.
